Can anyone provide a source that verifies the information provided for this individual other than other genealogy websites like ancestry, rootsweb, wikitree, etc. Wikipedia articles that are well referenced are fine as well as journals, family bibles and wills, etc.

Cuzzin Ñoño It will take me a while to see what’s out there. I always start with the American emigrant and his unverified profile notes show a mother of Catherine, not Mary.

Meanwhile read this link
from Arthur’s profile that quotes Boddie, an often reliable source:

https://books.google.com/books?id=C_w4AAAAMAAJ&lpg=PA102-IA135&...

Also rephrasing the question as:

Who are the parents of Arthur Jordan, I, of Surry County and what sources support that identification?

William Jordan, of Gatwick, Gent. Shows as his father & Rowland Jordon & William Jordon as his brothers.

This link http://www.2fools.net/book-0001/0013-0001.html (easier to read) again cites Boddie & again has no parents for him.

Here’s where the claim of parents comes from:

https://www.genealogy.com/ftm/y/a/g/Douglas-G-Yager/WEBSITE-0001/UH...

Arthur's father was William, born about 1570 in Gatwick, Suffolk, England.Arthur's mother was Catherine Hussey, born 3 Apr 1567 in Christ Church, London, Middlesex, England.Arthur's great-grandfather, Anthony Hussey, born about 1490, was the Judge of Admiralty and agent at Anvers for Queen Mary.

So it’s a tiny bit possible that looking in Visitations of Surrey for the Hussey family could glean some evidence.

Jill Unwin It looks like you updated her name and Bart that you added the image for Mary.

Anything to support these?

Alex Bonnett You show

Katherine Issard as daughter of Dr. Lawrence Hussey, Esq. & Margaret Hussey

What supports this?

Private User You added Joan White sister of Margaret Hussey as an additional wife of Margaret Hussey

I do not see her in Visitations?

This page has Lawrence Hussey & Margaret White But does not carry forward to their children (if any).

An inscription in the Church of St Nicholas, Charlwood, Surrey, recorded the burial of his daughter Katherine in 1626, wife of Sir William (Edmond) Jordan of Gatwick,

From https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurence_Hussey

And here’s our answer:

From https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/jordan/10835/

”I am a direct descendant of Edmund Jordan son and heir of William Jordan, Other siblings to Edmund were Lawrence, William, Thomas and Katherine. I have found no mention of an Arthur. Where does he fit into the picture ? William died 7th May 1625. I was sent information from William's Will a while back, there was no mention of an Arthur. There is a Jordan Pedigree published in a Surrey Visitations. Once again there is no mention of Arthur as a son to William and Katherine formerly Hussey. [Visitation,1623; Arthur I & II b.c.1595 & 1629

I’ve uploaded the Will & pedigree:

William Jordan, of Gatwick, Gent.

Are the parents of Mary Jordan confirmed?

"Joan White" is likely to have been the "Jane" cited in Visitations. But where the idea came from that she was the first/second wife of Lawrence Hussey, I no longer know.

She's not cited among the children of Sor John White in his 1573 will, http://heathhist.pbworks.com/w/page/17465445/WillWhiteJohn1573 which does mention "My Daughter Hussey's children".

My current conclusion is that Joan/Jane died relatively young and probably unmarried.

So we’re missing a grand daughter Marie Hussey ?

http://heathhist.pbworks.com/w/page/17465445/WillWhiteJohn1573

“41 beinge of pear fashion if she die within age or afore mariage I will that Juell of golde and stones to Marie
Husey my god Daughter ...”

Sorry ... not sure quite why I added the additional name. Must have been a mistake on my behalf.

I think there may have been two known Hussey daughters, Marie and Katherina (to use baptismal names), and they got fudged together.

He does say "god-daughter", not "granddaughter", which doesn't preclude her being both but suggests a fast check of the Hussey side of the family to make sure.

Excellent! Thank you again!
