No, I did a DNA test on both Ancestry.com and 23 And Me. My nationality is American; I’m multi-ethnic with 3/4’s of my DNA being Northwestern European and the rest being Eastern European and Southern European. My paternal line is German, but evidently I must have a non-German forefather a ways back seeing as E-L677 is not associated with the Indo-Europeans who primarily carried R1a and R1b and who came to genetically dominate Europe
as far as I know, E-L677 is for sure of southern european roots. I have found three other people who are E-677. One is from France and he is quite french, one has Jewish Lithuanian ancestry and another E-L677 is from Iran. When you spare some money, try to take a BIG Y test with FTDNA. I am going to do the same soon.
I’m inclined to believe that the preponderance of E-L677 among Egyptians, Middle Easterners, Jews and Southern Europeans, coupled with the scarcity of E-L677 north of Italy and Spain, is indicative of E-L677 having been introduced to Europe via a non-European source, such as the Jews, Phoenicians or Moors.
Both my father and I show 100% European...over half Germanic Europe.
I manage my father, mine, and my son's DNA on 23andMe, Ancestry, MyHeritage, FTDNA, and GEDmatch.
in addition to us three...two 1st cousins, and a 1st Cousin 2x removed all have E-L677.
I've noticed on another forum that there are men in the Balkins, and Yemen with the same haplogroup.
My son has four other people in his 23andMe downloaded aggregate match list that have E-L677 as their Paternal line...two sets of siblings.
I have traced one of the sets first back to Cleveland, OH, and then to Germany.
I have my male line traced back to 1600 Germany.
I will try to save up some $$$ and hopefully they will have a black friday sale and can buy a kit through FTDNA as well.
Got my Y111 results back - E-M35. What a sh*tty product. I spent 300 dollars on a product that gave me less information than the one I paid 100 dollars for. I got one match, and I doubt he’s even the type to respond. I’m totally disappointed with my purchase. Terrible, terrible product. Just absolute garbage
Hey Richard, I recently uploaded my AncestryDNA raw data file to MorleyDNA haplogroup predictor, and it gave me back your same haplogroup: E-L677 (E-V22) with the long hand name of E1b1b1a1c. Now is it possible if you could try the MorleyDNA predictor and compare it to your actual results, that would save me hunderds of dollars and a lot of time. I put my specific subclade (E1b1b1a1c) into google, and apparently it was only found in two samples in Greece. My autosomalDNA results were mainly 41% Levantine, 26% Italian, and 20% Turkish. I also got 19% Greek and South Italian on MyHeritage. I am Jordanian. And maybe we share a recent paternal ancestor.
