I was very pleased to receive your email. Raymond King my mother's first cousin. She always spoke of him to myself and my children. I never actually met him. He died when I was 5 years old. Raymond was raised by his Aunt and Uncle. His mother left him with her brother and his wife when he was 6 months old. She did not see him again until he was around 15 or 16 years old. Raymond had 3 half sisters, Iris and Ivy Johnson (twins) and another half sister by another man. I can assume they are all dead since they would all be over 100 years old. His mother was Minerva Maude Creed King. If you go onto the website; findagrave.com and look under Sgt.Raymond D.King Jr you will see pictures of him and his grave. I was not aware that he succumbed to injuries several days after being wounded. I was led to believe that he was killed in action. I appreciate that information. I would like to obtain a copy of your book when you are through.
