Sharon I have been following the discussion with much interest. I have one Q because the whole Steenkamp conunbrum has me going around in circles. What I want to know is who is the Geesje Steenkamp who married DANIEL NEL on 30 Sept 1792 as inscribed in the Cape Town records ref

With regard to my question concerning Steenkamp/Nel I have been barking up the wrong tree, so to speak.
The Daniel Nel that I referred to was Daniel Marthinus, the son of Louis Nel and Maria Rossouw while his first wife Geesje Steenkamp was Gesina Wilhelmina, daughter of Gerrit Steenkamp and Hendrina Cecilia Kruger.
Thus, this combination fell well outside the profiles of the present discussion!
