He's younger than his son Robbrecht I, and I noticed there was some generational stacking down the line with another Robrecht I, with one B, directly below him, and of approximately the same age. Going backward through that line, I am a bit skeptical because it ultimately leads to a connection to Louis I through this man's wife.

I'm not questioning Boudewijn van Kleef-Teisterbant's marriage and connection, but as far as a connection through this line of Rob(b)recht's, there are too many red flags.

Problematic ages and generational stacking leading to . . . Louis I. I mean, it's just a bit heavy-handed.

The whole Cleves line, that early, is probably Fictional. It won't be possible to find any documentary support via MedLands (I already looked), and then there's the whole Lohengrin thing that Cleves bought into hook, like and sinker....

Can you help me better understand what of this information is fictional and what is not, if any.

Thanks,
John Love
