Edward Algood3 b. 24 Mar 1698/99 married his wife Elizabeth and moved to the North Farnham Parish of Richmond Co, VA. He and Judith Fann, carried on a torrid love affair that found its way into the courts. Judith Fann is named as the mother of Lucretia Fann b. 2 Feb 1726/27 and Willoughby Fann b. 9 Dec 1730, in the North Farnham Parish Register. The father of the children is not named in the church register. The court charged Judith Fann and Edward Allgood, a married man, with fornication, lewd behavior and having bastard children. There were probably other bastard children who are not named in the incomplete copy of the North Farnham Parish Register, and some of the court records no longer exist, or, at least they are not found in the Virginia Archives. Judith may have also had bastard children by other men. Edward was never married to Judith Fann. She was his mistress, his only lawful wife was Elizabeth Palmer.
