He did not emigrate to France. He was born and died in Ireland.

I see why the question arises, though.

At the moment, he has been given a child

Jacoba Deela Quercia O Neil, {Fictional} who is born and raised in France.

But there is no real evidence for him that I can find.

His name doesn't make sense, in the context, since all of Brian's children have Irish names; also, it seems to be a mangling of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacopo_della_Quercia

All the evidence I can find is unsourced and coming from family web trees -- since it looks VERY unlikely that this is a legitimate connection, I'll disconnect, add notes, and lock down Brian; certainly if any substantial evidence comes along to support the connection we can reconnect!

Hi Anne,

What child was he given ? Did he marry and adopt the child of his wife ?

Regards

Guillaume Pieter Nel

According to O’Hara, who is problematic in early branches of the Irish tree, he had the four sons who appear in the profile here. They were his.

@ as far as I can make ot research is that this branch of the Nel family did not originate from ireland but from Norway because there were Vikings coming from Norway and settled in Burgendy in France. Now as far as I now this branch of the Nel family originate from Rouen in Normandy.

In my opinion the Nel family originate from Ireland settled somewhere in the south east of France
