Today I went through three boxes of documents at the Liechtenstein Archive in Vienna concerning the Jews of Prossnitz. See some scans at https://www.dropbox.com/home/Austria-Czech/Czechoslovakia/Moravia/P...

For what other towns do they have documents?

Randy, I believe that Strassnitz (Straznice) was the property of the Duke of Liechtenstein at some point. Could you check on that town in particular?

Thanks,
Michael

I tried the link but DropBox can't find the folder.

Thanks, Randy.

I added a few hundred more scans, but some didn't upload right, so I will have to fill in the blanks later. Anyway, it is so much material there. I scanned probably only 5%. And there are 14 more boxes to go through, maybe when I return in May.

Thanks, Randy! If only there was some record of the surnames adopted by this population, one could trace back to ID these people. Not surprising from the age of the records in your folder, almost all of the records I skimmed only used patronyms.
