Hi all,

I am new to genealogy and not sure this is the right forum but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. I am searching for sights to find free records for the surname BUCHWALTER and CIECHANOWSKI. What I am curious about is if there are any sites that will show people in the same household to try to connect additional family pre-holocaust. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Czestochowa Area Research Group - crarg.org. They cost $100/yr, but their records go back to the 1700s, and they're continually indexing more.

JRI Poland - https://jri-poland.org/jriplweb.htm - free, but some data sets require a qualifying subscription for a town.

Jewish Gen - particularly worth setting up your surnames/towns in their family finder database.

Thank you so much Jeremy! I will look into these. Appreciate it!

Heather, My brother has a friend Phil Buchwalter in Toronto, and his father was a landsman of my Dad. He lived in Czestochowa and Kamyk before the war. Any connection to you?
thx, Gayle

Hi Gayle! Yes, Phil is a cousin although I have never met him. His grandfather and my great great grandfather, Mosiek, were brothers!
