I learned just last night that the Joshua Parker, married to Mary (Boynton) Parker, is not the one who is the father of Mary "Polly"(Parker) Merritt. i have adjusted the birthdate to circa 1730 from where it was at 1740, because as Geni pointed out, he probably wasn't 11 years old when he fathered Mary, who was born in 1751, and also her mother was probably older than 14, though you never know. I was looking at information about Joshua Parker, trying to find out about his birthdate, when I stumbled upon a record that specifically mentioned that the two families often get mixed up. That's when I noticed that Joshua born 1741 and his wife Mary (Boynton) lived in Massachusetts, while our Joshua should have been in New York. Mary was born in New York, and the Merritts were from there as well. I am going to make a note in Mary (Boynton) Parker's profile as well. I think we should probably disconnect her from this tree.
