George Washington Hinds - George Washington Hinds 1??

My ancestor is the George Washington Hinds b 1818-1824, variously reported as b. in SC, TN. He was married to Mary Burdett. THeir children were: William P, MacDonald, Marion Francis, George Washington b. 1854, Henry Davis, Martha G, and Green Lafayette. Geo W. b1818-1824 is in the 1850 census in Monroe MS.
I too am looking for the correct father. At one time I thought it was John and Susanna -- but I dont now think it was . Have you made further progress?
I am descended from the son Geo W. b. 1854, in the 1880 census he reports that his father was born in Ala. and his mother in SC. in 1910 census, Green Lafayette reports his father and mother were both born in AL.

I found a marriage cert for George W Hinds to mary Beasley in 1845 in Monroe Co. MS. Then in the 1850 census, Geo. and Mary have two children: William P and MacDonald (all of this is consistent and correct.) In 1850 he says his father was born in S.C. . I am now investigating if George is the son of Francis Hinds (married 3 times, first to a _____ Davidson and had James, Moses, and I think George and William Dawson.. Then he married Eliza Seale, and fathered Ann Frances . Eliza died, and he may have remarried a 3rd time. But in any case , he died in 1842 in Shelby AL and Ann was put under the guardianship of John Neely. (Records from Shelby Co. confirm this)

William Dawson never left SC., but Francis departed for AL. I think James, Moses and George had been deserted by Francis. Moses and George departed for MS. Moses and his offspring ended up in Atacosa County Texas. George went to AR.
