Could I be a descendant of these Phillipses? Either a descendant of one of Jonas’s “unknown” children, a descendant of Jonas’s brother Joseph, or a descendant of one of Jonas’s sons whom I haven’t completely ruled out as a possibility based on a family tree chart I have? I had my Y-DNA done with Family Tree DNA. It’s Ashkenazi Jewish. Phillips is my biological paternal line. My earliest known direct male Phillips ancestor, Henry Phillips, lived in Indiana, born about 1825. Records indicate his father was born in North Carolina, but it’s not known where the family was before NC. It’s all but documented in black and white with proof of a father-son relationship that John Phillips, born about 1804, was Henry Phillips’s father. Henry had a son named Joseph, brother of my g-grandfather Alexander. Thanks.
