Patrick Snr, along with his brother James Heffernan, were both convicted of murder on 24Mar1835 in Tipperary and sentenced to transportation for life. Patrick Snr died on 10Dec1869 at Wentworth, Orange, NSW [NSW BDM #5288/1869] and the informant was his son Patrick Jnr. Patrick Snr is buried in the Orange Cemetery in the Catholic portion along with his infant son, Richard.
