I am a confirmed member of the Adkins family. I am the author of the blog link posted above.

I am attempting to set the story straight. My large family has been disputing the information contained in the Parker Adkins & Blue Sky blog before she published her blog and continue to this day. I and others of my family feel that part of our family identity has been hijacked. My family has carried this oral tradition UNCHANGED for 250 years.

The owner of the Parker Adkins & Blue Sky blog claims her husband is a member of this Adkins family. He is not. She insinuates that she has a deep understanding of our family, their history and their relationships. She does not. She claims that the Charity and Keziah test subjects' mitochondrial test results upon which she bases her claims contain only English and Irish results...that is incorrect. The owner of that blog has NEVER shown the Charity test subject's results to ANYONE, including never having shown the test results to the Charity test subject...the owner of that DNA. That fact alone should send up red flags for all of you.

I have had both the Charity and Keziah test subjects tested, mitochondrial and autosomal -- and the fact of the matter is that the Charity AND Keziah test subjects DO have Native American in BOTH their mitochondrial and autosomal test results. Please read the facts documented in my blog above. Please unlock the Parker Adkins and Blusky Cornstalk profiles so that the correct information can replace the erroneous information.

Please help us to reinstate our family members and our traditions.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Dorene,

I’m not related - I’m a volunteer curator for Geni, and I’m familiar with the BlueSky story in the Adkins line.

Geni has free linking from ftDNA accounts to Geni trees. My understanding is you’ve used a different testing service, and I know there’s some possibilities of porting lab results to another service. Or, of course, of testing at ftDNA and uploading / linking. Your case is DNA based, and using the tools Geni provides for linking tests to trees would make it transparent.

I look forward to seeing more Adkins tests uploaded.

Oh yes, that would be fantastic to get some DNA proof uploaded to these profiles to finally clear up all the years of false claims! How wonderful to have this exciting new development. Welcome to Geni cousin Doreen :)

Hello!

I am thrilled you want to help our family -- thank you!

The test results are posted on the Adkins Family History Group on FB. At least three of your profile managers are members of that page :) (Betty Jo Toppings Butterbaugh, Kimberly Fay and Tim Adkins). They can confirm the test results for you. I have also tested and posted the Y DNA and autosomal test results of two direct male line descendants of William Adkins, Sr. (Parker's father), with another set of test results of another direct male line descendant due to me around the 10th of July. I will post those to the Adkins Family History Group too, (his autosomal results already posted).
Of course any of you who have Adkins family ties to or one of the many families intertwined with the Adkins are more than welcome to come join that FB page!

You know, I think an easy way for people to review the test results is that I will post the relevant portions on my blog so you can see them , and then you can work with the profile managers who have access on the Adkins Family History Group to confirm or gain additional information -- I just want to respect the privacy of the test subjects involved, because I'm noticing people from around the world are viewing my blog, so I want to be cautious on their behalf. I'm sure you understand.

I am also in the process of taking more relevant tests that should be available for upload to GEDmatch.

I look forward to hearing from you all and I am happy to answer any questions!

Dorene

Thank you
