My grandfather was Juho Kustaa Maki ( John Kirvesmaki, aka John Maki ) Is there any other source other than a mention in my grandfather's obituary, that Alma and John were brother and sister ? Not disputing it, just seeking a second source for confirmation.
Alma is not listed as a relative in Ancestry.Com, but she is here in Geni . I'm wondering if the Geni datbase information on John and Alma are based on the one mention in John Maki's obituary. I an working on a family history and want to make sure all my information is
accurate.

The paper trail is not conclusive. Alma Justiina b. 19.6.1897 is in the communion book, but the first name could as well be Selma. Not recorded in Alavus births. Marriage record for Anton Lehto's second marriage is not online, so it probably was after 1938.

Death notice age mathces the birth in 1897.

Jouni Alkula : I have seen a copy of Dagmar's marriage certificate on Ancestry, and it does list the maiden name of her mother as Alma Kirvesmaki, so there is that. Just no lisitng of Alma as a sibling of John on Ancestry. Does the communion book list Alma's parents ? If it is a match, that should confirm it.
The birthplace of John, his brother Alex, and sister Senja is Alavus as well. (according to Ancestry, but without sources )
I did not see Johns name mentioned in Dajmar'f obiturary. Did I miss it ? Thank you for checking this out for me, and replying.
