Since the beginning of my search for my roots I have been wondering where the family originally came from
Some are convinced that the source of the family is from Spain, others claim that it is a mistake and Horowitz is an Ashkenazi family
This morning I came across this article:
http://www.shlomo.horwitzfam.org/in_the_beginning.htm
Because I am a descendant of the family from several branches both through my grandmother and through my grandfather, it is interesting and intriguing for me to know
Does anyone know solid information on where the family originated from?

Have you had a look at Horowitz Genealogy, it has quite a bit on the origins of the Horowitz family.

Thank you
I have read, but there is no consensus as to the origin of the family
If there was solid information, we might have been able to go back many generations
I do know that the family is a direct descendant of the prophet Samuel,

Linda Goldenstein
thanks,
The information you uploaded is well known to me, but geni cut the family, and it appears from Rabbi Joseph HaLevi, [Gd.father 1st Horowitz] from the town of Hořovice
There is no mention of the continuation of the family from Spain (?)

Thank you for bringing the Town of Horovice name. I have Gurvich/Hurwitz/Horowitz in my Tree, too.
