Please enter all names in the first filed, there is no such thing as middle name in Croatia

Jadra, I index Croatian records for familysearch.org. In general, there is no middle name for most Croatian births; however, affluent or noble families in the early records did include middle names, sometimes as many as four. Also, at least in the Gorski Kotar region, towards the end of the 1800s, middle names became more common place. I include them when they are noted in the church, civil or military records.

Having 4,5,6 names is not unusual but middle name - as a concept in USA, does not exist. All those names, regardless of how many there are, are simpy part of person's name.
Someitmes, father's name was used that could have been identified as midlle name.
Could you send me a link to those you think have a middle name?

An example, Andrija Franjo Xsavier Švrljuga and Andrija Franjo Xsavier Rački (both later became priests and studied theology at Senji). You will have to have an account at family search to view: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G99C-GK6M?i=251&am...

a Andrija Rački, priest and who studied theology at Senj , a his profile is here: Andrija Rački

Where d you see Middle name?
You have
Mensis et dies Baptismi, Domus, Nomen, Nomen at Dies Nativitat, xxxxxxx,Pater Condition, Mater, Nomen, etc
Month and day of baptism, House, Name, Name at birth, xxxxxxx, father, mother's name, etc.

Here is another example from a different village, Bakar. Hermanus Ambrosius Mathias Mihaljević, born 28 May 1865, father Georgius (Juraj) Mihaljević, mother Maria Venturini. Are you considering Hermanus Ambrosius Mathias all as first name? For us, Hermanus would be the first name and Ambrosius Mathias would be the middle name. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-899X-L62D?i=271&am...

There is no middle name in Croatia, it has never existed. Same for most of the Europe. Middle name is US thing.
All given names are just names, there is no First or Middle name.
I have seen that over and over again, but it is not correct. I knew that all along, but recently also contacted Croatian linguists and historians to confirm.
If you look at Croatian documents - there is no single one having a field for middle name.
You might have
Name, Father's name, Surname but father's name is not person's name or
Name, Baptisied name, Surname but Baptisied name is not a middle name

All given names are just names.

I have seen names indexed on familysearch in all kinds of way, say if person has 5 names
Name Midlle name
1.name all others
1+2name 3+4 name

Hvala. I appreciate you taking the time to work through the examples.
