Gouverneur-adjoint Robert Navarre, Sr. - Just wanting to know how you all are connected?

I'm a distant & multiple shirt-tail cousin through the Navarres of Monroe, MI. I started working on my genealogy in about 1957 as a sophomore in high school in Toledo, OH. The Navarre family of Peter Navarre is rather highly documented in the Toledo Library, and soon became the center of my earliest research. Also, as you might expect from a teenage kid, I was also motivated because one of my least favorite high school teachers was Fr. Robert Navarre (passed away a couple of years ago) and I enjoyed telling him that (to his displeasure ... I was also not one of his favorite students!) we were cousins. ;-))

It looks like it checks out that Peter/Pierre Freschutz Navarre b.1787 is the son of Robert Navarre Jr. b.1739 and Robert Navarre Jr. is the brother of Jean-Marie Alexis Navarre b.1763 (My ancestor). Very cool! The Navarre's are on my dad's side and my dad he happens to be from Sylvania Ohio, which is right next to Toledo. It's also something to note that Robert Navarre Jr. also had another son by the name of Peter born in 1775.

Hello, I just stumbled across this thread. Noticed the discussion on Jean Marie Alexis Navarre. My wife is a direct descendant of Rene Goder and Catherine Campeau, the parents of Jean Marie Alexis Navarre's wife Archange Goder (Coderre) - she is my wife's 3rd Great-GrandAunt. My wife, Brenda Godier Hill, is descended thru Archange's brother, Jean Baptiste Goder (1770-1823).
