I administer a Crates DNA Project established with FTDNA in Houston which seeks to compare Y-DNA samples from living male descendants to indicate familial relationships with persons in so-far unrelated groups. Because of name variations even within documented known families, the project seeks to cover similar names, especially Crates, Creates, Crate, Grat.
