Is Thomas Batte supposed to be Botts? The Thomas Botts husband was also married to an Amy Elizabeth so is that part of the problem? Have they been confused or switched?
Dan Cornett is manager of that profile.
Private User is the curator for Amy my 8th great grandmother.
Thank you in advance
Pulled this from the About as it doesn't appear correct and I would like more info:
Amy arrived from England with her parents and two brother's in spring of 1658. She met Thomas during the time assisting her 1st husband, Essex Beville, in his duties as Justice of The Peace in Virginia. She sought his advice after her 1st husband had died & she had seen widows lose everything, even items willed to them, to their new husband after they remarried. She wanted to keep the land her father received when the family came to the new world & that she had worked, with the help of a Contanchook Indian & his daughters, since the death of her parents and brother. She divided the land & all assets between her 5 children.
Amy's profile is showing her birth location as Virginia. So this would be in error.
The rest? Do not know because I do not know the source of it--- was next to

Thomas was a lawyer in Virginia when he and Amy Beville met. His age is based on 1683 Henrico County Records that stated"Thomas Bott, aged about 30 years" when he witnessed Amy signing a deed of gift to her children with Essex Beville, and giving a deposition to the court about the deed in 1686. According to the same records, in August 1687, When Thomas Bott sued Major Thomas Chamberlayne for "Calling him a rouge" & in October of 1687, he and Amy evaded a suit brought against the estate of Henry Kent, (Amy's 2nd husband), by William & Thomas Farrar for a cow purchased by Henry but not paid for because of his death. The case was dismissed.

Hernico County Records; Richard Kennon petitioned the court for 8000 acres for importation of 90 servants into the colony including Thomas Botte, who arrived in 1680. Thomas' arrival in Virginia may correspond the lifting of a ban on lawyer's in 1680 which was esttablished by the Virginia Colonies in 1658.
