About the photograph and the information. The photograph posted of Daniel Kenneth Murphy is in fact a photograph Of a different Daniel Murphy that I originally uploaded to Ancestry and MY Heritage, and is NOT the same person as the man named on this site. The photograph in question was first published in a local Victorian history book "As It Happened. The History of Coldstream, Gruyere, Yering and Killara" Vol. One. From Settlement to 1900. by Val Sheehan, made available through the Lilydale and District Historical Society, which is where I purchased it. Daniel Murphy, son of Denis Murphy and Ellen Condon born in Victoria, Australia 1 Jan 1845, lived his entire life in Victoria, married in 1883 in Heidelberg, Melbourne, Mary Frances Gloster. He did not live in South Africa, marry there or have a family. It is his photo that has been mistakenly attached. Also Daniel Kenneth Murphy, has the wrong parents, and was born in IRELAND and earlier than Daniel Murphy in the photo. Denis and Ellen Murphy nee Condon, did not have a child called Daniel in Ireland, as Ellen would have been unmarried and too young. Unfortunately people are now copying the error and mixing up the two different men. It would be greatly appreciated if the site manager could please remove the photo and correct the information.
