As I recall, when my grandfather died in 1965, he was 86, That would make his birth date approximately 1879, give or take a few months.

The photo of Eliyahu and Sarah was taken at their 50th anniversary party at the home of daughter Fortune's house on Long Island in the summer of 1952. I attended this party at Aunt Fortune's and Uncle "Flugy's" palatial home with my mother and sister. It was there, with the aid of an aging Kodak Brownie Box camera, that I took this photo. A copy still hangs in my office at home.

Elliot, same to you. I also recall my Mom saying that he gave up smoking after the Surgeon General's report, which was in January of 1964.

That’s true I was sitting on the couch with him watching tv and the report came on that smoking causes cancer his cigarettes were on the table he turned to me And said did you hear what he said he than picked up the pack of cigarettes crushed them and put Them in the garbage and never smoked again.
