Hi. Thanks for your information on the Dolan family. I am 8 generations removed from Patrick Thomas and Mary Durish Dolan. Patrick and Mary were not divorced; she died giving birth to their fourth child. Patrick married Mary Durish (1787-1814) in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland. They were the parents of four children. Anne Dolan O’Malley was born in Lecanvey in 1807. Patrick Thomas was born in 1811, Thomas was born in 1812, and Susan Dolan Hester was born in 1814. Mary died in 1814 while giving birth to Susan.

Having four small children, Patrick needed a new wife. A large group of evicted Irish Catholic families from Northern Ireland were allowed to settle around Lecanvey. In this group was Bridget Mamio McNamee, MacNamee or McNama (1795-1876), who Patrick soon married. Together, they had ten more children.

Martin 1815-1891
John 1816-1902
Mary 1818-1874
William Kermit 1820-1895
Patrick 1820-1894
James 1821-1880
Michael 1822-1904
Bridget 1827-1886
Ann Catherine1829-1902
Ellen 1830-1905
My concern is that the timeline shown on this feed states that Patrick died in 1848, but then is living in Liverpool in 1851 and in Ontario, Canada in 1852.

Hi Denise,
I am also a descendant of Patrick Dolan through Patrick Dolan and Jane Hynes.
This is not a tree that I keep current. I started it many years ago but it seems that someone else has edited this tree. While it lists me as manager, there is also someone named Christoper listed as manager. I have no idea who this is??? I keep all my info on Ancestry.com.

I see that it listed Mary as divorced from Patrick. I did not make this change, someone else did. (this is why I don’t use this tree). I did go into the profile and correct this. As far as the date of death, everything tree I see list it as 1847 or 1848. As far as I can see Patrick died in Ireland. I think if you find someone in England or Canadian that it is a different Patrick. I think I have seen a gravestone for Patrick from Ireland and that may be where the date comes from. I have seen the gravestone for Bridget McNamee in Iowa and there is no husband listed with her or a stone nearby for him. I do believe he never left Ireland
I will look through my records.

I hope this helps you,
Susie

Thanks, Susie! So frustrating that anyone can change information on the tree. I don't use Geni very often - only if Ancestry or My Heritage or any other place I'm searching sends me there. I didn't realize that Bridget was buried in Iowa. I'll check that out! Thanks so much for your input!
