We don't know exactly who settled Lubavici branch of Katzenelenbogen tree.
We know Dovid (David) Gamsheev Katzenelenbeigen and Abram Gamsheev Katzenelenbeigen who lived in Lubavichi since 1830 and seems to be hasidis.
It seems they were brothers as
1) lived in same place,
2) both have sones named Berka. Both Berkas have sons Mendel and Gamshey.
We don't know who was that Gamshey (Yehoshua, Joshua) branch settler who should borned around 1790. I asked Neil Rosenstain. Unfortunetly he have no idea.
I studied Unbroken Chain to find Gamshey who could be our Gamshey.
Only person was R. Joshua Heschel Katzenellenpogen
Now it seems Joshua Heshel is not our Gamshey.
I tried to understand why our Gamshey wasn't menshend in biographies which are in base of Unbroken Chain. I think key is migration of member of ortodox rabbi dinasty to hasidis.
As I failed to find our Gamshey I assumed key is in logic of names. We can see sistem when boy gets his name from died grandfather or great grandfather. And we see 2 Gamsheys grandsons Berka (Dov Ber). So we should find Dov Ber in main tree.
As I know Y-dna we have in Lubavichi branch doesn't match men's line goes from Katzenelenbogen dinasty settler, family name was transfered through woman. And we had such case for R' Abraham Josef Jacob Ashkenazi-Katzenellenbogen, A.B.D. Janow and then Lvov
So we shoul find this branch. And I found Rabbi Dov Berish Katzenellenbogen
It as my only version for today.
