Was one of VA Governor Sir William Berkeley’s officers during Bacon’s Rebellion, was wounded while defending Jamestown, VA. Killed in a fight at Colonel Nathaniel Bacon’s house at King’s Creek. Historians have come to understand Bacon's Rebellion as a power struggle between two stubborn, selfish leaders rather than a glorious fight against tyranny.
