William Hunter and his wife Agnes Robertson, who were residents of Lightburn in Barony parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland, had a daughter named Elizabeth who was born on 6 June 1749. Her baptism was registered at Barony parish on 11 June 1749.

Because I know that Bessie is the diminutive of Elizabeth, I am of the opinion that Elizabeth Hunter probably died before 13 February 1752, the date upon which her younger sister Bessie Hunter was born, probably at Lightburn. Bessie Hunter's baptism was registered at Barony parish on 23 February 1752.

If anyone would like to suggest an alternative proposition I would be please to consider it.

I have a copy of a marriage registration for Elizabeth Hunter and James Gilmour in July, 1768. If this is the Elizabeth Hunter b.1752, who married John Baird in 1780, why does she have children registered from both marriages at the same time?

According to my records, Elizabeth Hunter b.1749, had nine children between 1769 and 1789, including my third great grandfather, Robison Gilmour.
