Corporal Thomas Tollis, Soldier "Ganges" 1797 Is on GEni with 2 sets of parents

* William Robert Tollis and Mary Ann Tollis
* Thomas Tollis

What evidence connects him to either parents?

Hi Leanne, i don't know either as he changed his name to Tollis from his enlisted name of Thomas Tolhurst 1796, so he cannot have had parents named Tollis and i am thinking the brothers and sisters would be false as well, they need to be deleted.

I have detached both set of parents and added unknown parents for him

{unknown father of Thomas Tolhurst}
{unknown mother of Thomas Tolhurst}

If sources are provided in the future we can attach him to parents.

that's unlikely unless someone can locate enlistment rolls for the 20th dragoons 1796 with parents names, my online searches for Thomas Tolhurst have been fruitless so far although i did find a baptism in 8th Dec 1776 with parents Thomas Tolhurst and Alice in Kenardington Kent the only one in the entire UK and a marriage for Thomas Tolhurst and Alice Ditton 1st Oct 1770 which seems to work but hard to prove without a stronger link.

Mother: Mary - no sources or dates given.
