I had a grandfather with the same name.
I know his mother and brother immigrated to the US.
He himself immigrated to Israel.
He died in Haifa on March 24, 1969.
I would appreciate it if you would reply to this message.

Hello,
I thought my grandfather Marcus Friedman (from Stryj, Poland, now Ukraine) had a brother named Neftola who immigrated to Poland but maybe it was my grandmother Geraldine (Kessler) Friedman who had a brother Neftola. That would make sense because her mother Bertha came as well. She was from Hungary. My grandparents met in Cleveland, Ohio and then moved to Atlantic City, NJ for several years before settling in York, Pennsylvania in the late 1940's where my mom and uncle were born. They both died there too; Geraldine accidentally (fell down stairs) in 1956 and Markus in 1970 by stroke. They had other siblings , too, including Rosie's grandfather Ed Kessler. What's your name and where do you live in Israel? I'm in Seattle, Washington. I hope you're well and all is settling down there. Best,
Julie

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I apologize for not noticing that a reply has been received, so I have not responded until now.
My full name is Chaim Shlomo Rosenbach. I live in Jerusalem.
But first of all we should try to find out the fact that interests us most, are we really relatives.
I will mention here some details I know about the family:
My grandfather Naftaly Kessler was born around 1887.
His father's name was Yekutiel Ze'ev (Zalman is a common nickname for Yekutiel,The common nickname for Ze'ev is Wolf (William)). He died in Hungary, apparently from a complication of diabetes.
His mother's Hebrew name was Beila, she may have been called Bertha.
Naftali Kessler is my grandmother's grandfather, My grandmother told me that the family members immigrated to the United States before the First World War, but her grandfather returned to Hungary, There he married his wife Gitel Salomon, and until he immigrated to Israel he lived in Satu Mare, Transilvania.
It seems to me that we can find out the family connection by verifying the first names.
For example, if the tombstone of one of Solomon Kessler's sons has a Hebrew inscription, it is customary to indicate the father's name on the tombstone. It may be the full Hebrew name of the father, and not just the common nickname.
Also on the gravestone of his wife Bertha, the name Beila may appear.
Can you find out ? Do you know of another way to find out about the family connection ?
Thank you for your interest, we's fine. I hope you are well too.
Success for all of us.

Dear Private User
