Hello Geni community! I needed to send this out because I have a profile that is continually being severed from the family tree even though it is a Master Profile with several sources corroborating his parentage from both outside sources and MyHeritage. If anyone can help in this front, please holler at me.
Robert H. Hester, Sr.

You need a will or some other legal document.

Online public trees are not sources.

I think the main issue is the Garland mother.

It is a curated profile which is very helpful but relationships are only locked when they have been proven.

I wish you luck.

Previous discussion: Elizabeth Agnes Hester (Garland)

Francis Hester, Jr. married Elizabeth Agnes Hester (Garland) so we are looking for the correct father for Robert.

The deleted comment was just the Geni link for Francis as a stand alone comment and added nothing so I removed it.

Garland is a difficult line. I would think it will be easier to find Robert's father than parents for Elizabeth. SInce Robert is showing a brother Thomas Garland Hester we can assume she was a Garland but this is not a direct line for me and I was working from the bottom up on the Joyce line. My mother's brother was Joyce Mason Emerson and was named for Joyce and for Mason so I am more familiar with those lines and am trying to get them added correctly to Geni.

I understand now. I was wondering because that family line wasn't an issue for the last year or so that I was passively here so I needed an understanding what was going on. A lot of people's trees and DNA lines were leading in that direction and I don't know if it would be possible to hunt for a will and testament especially with how the census and other data was collected as just the heads of the family, let alone finding a surviving will. I'm going to try to see what I can find on my end with my other tools but I'm getting flashbacks to when I tried to find my 3x great grandfather's parents and the hurdles given how he kept changing how he signed documents.

Don't know if this is something of interest but I found parish records in his birth place of christenings at page 14. "Robert ye sone of Frances Hester & -------his wife baptized ye 10 day of October, 1686." The dates seem to match up there as well as his birth in New Kent County. There is proof here that his father is in fact Frances Hester of New Kent but it may be possible the middle initial is wrong (I did not create this profile so IDK where that is from). The Garland wife thing may be wrong though as I'm seeing dispute as you mentioned, and I did see a James Robert Hester had been recently added but claimed he was in South Carolina his whole life which doesn't make sense with the trajectory of the rest of his kin. James Robert Hester
It may be possible two people here got blended in as it's taking info from both a James and a Robert Hester in "matches". Maybe there were two, maybe one had the same name and they need to be connected, etc since the naming convention of the Hesters were not exactly creative. I'm trying to view their will but it only gives me a copyright from Ancestry.

I added the baptism document as a point of proof. I also have another document that talks about the history of the Hesters and Wickers that also notes his father being Frances and a Mary as Robert's sister. This may prove further he in fact was Francis's (spelled correctly)'s kid. https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000175037015006

Misworded who was related to who. "Also want to note I found a Mary Wicker saved as a child of Francis Hester Jr. and has her husband down but the age is super wrong here." Mary Wicker (Hester)
