Problem with Martha Wall being the mother of Randall (Randolph) Sluder. There is little doubt in my mind that David and Randall were related, but exactly how so has never been determined for sure.

I see three possibilities...

1. Randall is David's son from a previous marriage. When David married Patsy Wall in 1802, Randall was already 7-12 years old.
2. Randall is Patsy's son from a previous marriage and he took the Sluder name from David when they married. This is unlikely because Patsy is only 10-15 years older than Randall.
3. Randall and David are brothers, the sons of Mark Sluder who likely died around 1789 in NC.

I consider the last scenario to be the most likely. There is much confusion about Mark Sluder. Some Sluder researchers have conflated the records of Mark Sluder and Isaac Sluder who were actually brothers and sons of Henry Sluder Jr. Many have combined these records into a single individual they call Isaac Mark Sluder. There is absolutely no such person in any public record, in fact all public records record them as separate individuals. Mark Sluder was likely married to Phoebe Stillwell and they lived in Randolph Co, NC, less than 30 miles from Rowan Co where Henry Sluder Jr. lived. Neither David nor Randall are common first names in the Sluder family, however Phoebe Stillwell DID have a brother (her only brother) whose name was David. I believe that David Sluder may have been named after him. They also lived in Randolph Co, NC and that is where the name Randolph may have come from. Both Phoebe and Mark died before 1790, within a few years of each other, leaving their children as orphans. The older children moved on and went on to various states. The younger ones likely were taken in by Henry Sluder Jr. and his wife in Rowan Co until they came of age and could go out on their own. David and Randall came to Casey/Lincoln County KY about the same time, around 1800. They both served in the War of 1812 and fought in the Battle of New Orleans together.

David was very much associated with the Wall family, even before he married Patsy Wall. Jacob Wall was from Culpeper Co, VA and was undoubtedly tied to Germanna, possibly in more ways than one. I've considered the possibility that one of the Walk lines became Wall, but that is complete speculation. There are multiple tax records associating David with Jacob Wall once they got to KY, even before David and Patsy married. I believe that David and Patsy's children definitely follow the connection to Germanna that you have outlined, I just have to doubt that is Randall's line. Randall married Katherine or Katy Danner (or Tanner) and my connection to them is solidly established in both my dad and mom's lines as you have already noted.

I still have some research to do in Randolph Co, NC which may shed more light on Mark and Phoebe Sluder.
