Hello All,
I am seeking to learn about my Paserpskis ancestors, likely from the Liudvinavas region. I believe there are still people living in that area today with that surname. My great-grandfather, Pietras Paserpskis, emigrated with his wife (Mare Kristina Nevulis ?) in 1884 and lived in Pennsylvania, USA. He was a tailor. He seems to be somehow related to another Pietras Paserpskis born 15 JAN 1881 in Liudvinavas. The parents of this second "Pietras Paserpskis" may be Vincas Paserpskis and Josephine Spokite (?). This second "Pietras" emigrated in 1901 and moved on to Chicagi, Illinois, USA where he has many descendants. But no one knows of their origins in Lithuania.
I wonder if my great-grandfather (Pietras) was the brother of Vincas Paserpskis.
I have searched for years for information on this branch of my family. I contacted a Lithuanian genealogist who told me there are no records available for this area. So I am hoping to perhaps find some kind of family connection. If anyone has advice or suggestions, I would appreciate your time.
Kind regards,
Ellen (Aleknavicius) DeCarlo
