Find a Grave (not a source, I know, but includes sources in this entry) https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/30008122/abraham-laster lists parents of Abraham as Frederick and Nancy Smith Laster. So do Family Search tree https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LH39-6WC.

While there is a marriage license issued to Frederick and Rachel Rhodes in 1798, Davidson County, TN

"Tennessee, County Marriages, 1790-1950," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KZ7P-TFB : 10 March 2021), Frederick Lassiter and Rachel Rhodes, 23 Nov 1798; citing Davidson, Tennessee, United States, Marriage, p. 37, Tennessee State Library and Archives, Nashville and county clerk offices from various counties; FHL microfilm 200,294.

Family Search also has Rachel dying before 1802 when Frederick apparently remarries. No children from the marriage noted.

Find a Grave does not mention wife Rachel, but does mention that Frederick marries Delilah Basham after Nancy dies.

Was Frederick who married Nancy ever married to Rachel Rhoads or was that someone else?

There is a marriage license issued to Frederick and Nancy Smith in 1802, back in Gates County, NC.

"North Carolina Marriages, 1759-1979", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q296-MVZH : 14 February 2020), Frederick Lasseter, 1802.

There is also a marriage license for Frederick Lassiter and Absilla Lassiter issued in 1800 in Gates County, NC. Was this another wife or another Frederick?

"North Carolina, County Marriages, 1762-1979 ," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XF9R-N61 : 9 March 2021), Frederick Lassiter and Absilla Lassiter, 29 Apr 1800; citing Gates, North Carolina, United States, p. , North Carolina State Archives Division of Archives and History; FHL microfilm 1,014,855.

More questions to come. Any thoughts appreciated.
