'Unconnected' people adding projects to profiles they are not managers of

Does Geni permit this? I have had projects added to profiles that I manage, without first being sent
a request to add project - from Geni as the intermediary party.

The latter is what happens when I see an appropriate project that could be added - so I'm wondering why
I'm seeing projects that I haven't selected, pop up on the profile.

All assistance appreciated.

Dear Robin,

Geni users can add public profiles that they do not manage to projects if:

  • they are either a curator
  • or are a collaborator with one of the profile managers
  • or the user belongs to a project to which the profile is added. For example, if a profile is added to a project, then members of that project then can add the profile to other relevant projects.

Geni is a collaborative website, where we work together to build a shared tree and this includes collaborating to add profiles to projects.
