I disagree with the death date of Feb. 1, 1877 put on James's memorial stone. James purchased land in Searcy Co., Ark. on June 24, 1878 so he was still alive then! Parmelia was listed as a widow on the 1880 census for Tomahawk twp, Searcy Co., Ark. Parmelia remarried on 7-3-1883 to James Mahone and transferred that same plot of land into her new name Parmelia Mahoney on 10-20-1884. So James died some time between July 1878 and June 1880. I have posted these documents in the media section. Can anyone help me find his true death date?
