Problem with this page?

Hi @rvk - the parentheses around "van" is throwing off our code that normally ignores such nobiliary parts of the name. I can look at tweaking our code to avoid the problem, but can you tell me what is the meaning of putting "van" in parens? Is it because the name sometimes appears with it and sometimes not?

Sorry my tag Private User didn't work. See ^^^^^

One of my recent ones
Daniel R... Son of David R... and Sylvia R....
To
Justin R... Child of David R... and Paula R...
--(No spouse or children for either. One shows siblings)

Looking at Compare Profiles Screen, turns out Justin's middle name is Daniel (Daniel's middle name is Ethan)
Born on the same month and day of month, but one in 1989, other in 1985 -- one born in Boston, one in Los Angeles
No other info except both alive, one is a Geni user.

I rejected it

Private User are you saying "not even close" to:

Marianna Speijer, daughter of Samuel Speijer Spijer and Vrouwtje Speijer

being a match to

Marianna Samuel Speijer, daughter of Samuel Hartog / Hirsch (Spijer) Speijer and Vrouwtje Salomon / Zelig Zilver Hammelburg

?? Those names are nearly identical. Yes, the locations differ; we do not currently take that into account. The dates differ but still overlap; we only reject matches when there is no overlap between the two profiles' lifespans.

As for the Geni user, we do not automatically assume that makes them contemporary because plenty of people try to create a tree on Geni as Queen Elizabeth or Charlemagne or King John. We need those matches to show up, so we can stop them.

A new suggested Match:
One woman's given names were Pauline Rose, the other's just Rose
The husband of one was Harry, the other Louis H.
The married surnames were the same, the Birth Surnames different.
Neither had parents; each had several children, each had one child named Samuel.
One had dates and a place, the other did not.

If everyone understood these were not Requested Matches, but just 'hey, the software found some similarities here so maybe worth a look' that would be fine.
