I found that Dr James Naismith is a project attached to this project, but is connected to the Geni World Tree. Does this project need a review of it's profiles?

We always appreciate help with that! And I've gone ahead and removed Dr. Naismith.

Although Leonard Nimoy is still listed on this project, it appears that his profile is now connected to the World Tree. So I think his name can be removed from the project.

I'm actually in the process of cleaning out the project and have removed about 350 profiles so far this month. I'm checking the connections as I go just to make sure that they're solid.

I'll give Nimoy a peek for you.

Thanks! To make up for the ones you're removing, I've added a few new names (mostly celebrities/entertainers).

:) New ones always welcome! I actually like trying to find these connections.

I'm curious to know what your approach is when trying to find these connections. I've had some success searching in the World Tree on an unusual or distinctive name of an ancestor in the unconnected branch, hoping to find a match. Is there a better (or alternative) way?

Within the past few hours, dozens of requests to add profiles to this project have been made by user Anne-Lilja Amalia Rentof, and they've been blindly accepted by members without checking, despite the fact that few (if any) of these profiles are actually unconnected.

Geoffrey David Trowbridge -- Do you want to reach out to the user?

I'm removing profiles again...it looks like a lot of the additions are ones that are connected through circuitous in-law paths. Just to remind everyone: that's okay! As long as someone is connected somehow, even if it's through a long and winding path, they don't need to be in this project.

Jonathan Scott Krengel -- Yesterday I made several updates to the profiles list in the project, removing several names that I had connected and/or had already been connected by others. You appear to have undid all of my changes. Why did you do that?

11/15/2023 at 5:58 PM

Geoffrey David Trowbridge - Sorry about that, it appears we were both working on the project details at the same time. Did you get your changes back into place, or do I need to review the change history to get those back?

Thanks for the reply! Yes, in retrospect I realized that's probably what happened. No worries; I think I was able to redo the updates. Sorry if I came across as grumpy.
