Is there any documentation that this Kinneth came from Scotland? Asking because it's later than usual than most Scottish immigrants, seems more likely it would have been farther back that his line immigrated. Plus, it's unusual for a family to come from Scotland and go directly to Mississippi. That usually happens after a few generations.
Ancestry treess have him as:
BIRTH; Abt 1775 Cross Creek, Robeson County, North Carolina
DEATH: 1830 Covington County, Mississippi, USA
Father; Daniel Archibald Mc Craney Sr (1735–1823)
Mother: Mary Catherine Shaw (1750–)
The trees on Ancestry continue on back, tracing to the immigrant ancestor and beyond. They have the immigrant as:
Murdoch McCranie
BIRTH 1707 • Knockcrome, Isle of Jura, Argyleshire, Scotland
DEATH 21 MAY 1762 • Cumberland County, North Carolina, Colonial America
and his wife as Marion (McLean)
The timeline makes more sense for the immigration and also makes more sense of where the family was between their arrival in America and the branch that eventually ended up in Mississippi.
These aren't my kin. They're direct descendants of my deceased youngest son on his paternal side, but I they popped up in a line I was tracing today and I saw the difference between what's in other trees and what is on here, saw there is no documentation or notes in this profile, etc. and thought maybe this info might be helpfull.
