Greetings,
According to GENI my 14th great grandfather was "Duarte Brandão" or "Edward Brampton"( link to profile below). He was a sephardic jew from Porto (Portugal) that lived in the court of Edward IV. He was the son of Jacob Baru (a merchant) and Mariana (I believe she was also jewish). The GENI profile does not inform much about them, but it says that he went to live in the Netherlands before moving to England.
I was interested in knowing if he had some connection with the profiles with the surname "Brandon", which are a variation for portuguese "Brandão". That seems possible, right? And perhaps to know more about his father and mother (Jacob and Mariana). There is practically no information about them. Duarte Brandão was relatively important. He was mentioned in Mario Puzo's romance "The Family" about the Borgia Family.
Thanks for your attention.
Best regards
from Brazil,
Antonio Silveira Marques
