Hello

Can anyone help me find COLONEL JOHN GREGORY? He is listed here as serving under General Isaac Gregory: https://www.carolana.com/NC/Revolution/nc_camden_county_regiment.html The owner of that website found John Gregory as being the commanding officer of several veterans who claimed pensions.

I have searched for many months. Everyone tells me the man I seek is General Isaac Gregory, but, regrettably, that is not the case. It is definitely Colonel John Gregory I seek, but he appears to be a forgotten man?

It is believed that he was injured at the Battle of Black Swamp on 26 June 1781, but I can find nothing about him at all.

It is also believed that were the letter "From General Isaac Gregory to Colonel Blount", in early July 1781, be found, then some information about that battle might emerge. The letter was an enclosure in the following two letters:

Help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
