Hello I am currently researching for a family tree. And this image, I have been told by my Grandmother (born '42), depicts her husband Philip Jacobus Botha instead of her brother, I have added further information on familysearch.org if you would like to confirm.

Sincerely,
Joseph

THE FATHER OF PHILIP JACOB BOTHA COULD BE EBENEZAAR BOTHA YOU COULD START THERE YOUR RESEARCH. REMEMBER THE FIRST SON GETS THE NAME OF PATERNAL GRANDFATHER AND FIRST DAUGHTER THE MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER.

SINCERELY,

My Grandparents--on both sides--immigrated to Australia from South Africa in the 1980s.

My great grandparents on my mother's father's side immigrated to South Africa from Greece in the 1930s.

My Great Grandmother, Marie Cornelia Botha, immigrated to Australia in the mid-1990s and passed away in 2002.

**However, I do not believe her parents, Philip and Helena immigrated. In the records I have found no evidence for immigration.**

Also, Thank you greatly for your help

Joseph, AUS

Hi ! your greatgrandmother MARIA CORNELIA had a nickname "MIMPIE" she was very close to my aunt Marguerit (GIRLIE ) DEAN/Durandt /MARAIS her husband's name. Girlie was born around 1910. She also died ca 2002 in SA. Girlie visited us in Brussels and mentioned often Mimpie who had emigrated to AUS with her family They use to correspond by airmail.I think MIMPIE's husband was Jan Willem KLINKERT . I am your granny's age born in central Africa in 1946. Mom was Patricia DEAN/DURANDT/CAILLIAU b. 1925 + 2013 My mother's father Julian Gabriel DEAN was from TAS/LAUNCESTON b. 1876 + 1945 in SA.
PHILIP BOTHA and HELENA CLAUDINA DURANDT/BOTHA never left SA.for sure.

Maybe your grandmother still has letters from her mother Mimpie ? you might find informations there. Regards,

Barbara

Thank you for the information, but if you don't mind me asking whereabouts are you located, I am in Tasmania--My family came last year from Brisbane, Queensland

Hello Joseph , I live in Belgium near Brussels the capital of EEC. Interesting that you should live in TAS. My grandfather Julian DEAN came from LAUNCESTON went to South Africa during the Anglo Boer War ( ABW )

That is very interesting to here. If you don't mind me asking how did your grandfather come to be Australia?

My grandpa was grandchild like many other DEANS to Bounty emigrants in the 19th C;
