Jean Brevard left France for Ireland about 1685. The McKnitts, Wallaces, and Alexanders arrived Somerset MD about 1670. Brevard is first documented in America in the 1698 will of William Wallace, when he left a bequeath to his cousin by marriage John Brevard. Brevard had married a daughter of Matthew Wallace. The only known child of this marriage was Sarah Brevard b 1705-1710 in Somerset Co MD . She married John Nisbet of Lancaster Pa.
