Eric, thank you for uncovering this issue. And I am quite happy to discuss it. You also Kira, thank you for coming up with a nice source.
In the book, "The Naturalized Jews of the Grand Duchy of Posen in 1834 and 1835 Revised Edition, Compiled by Edward David Luft, published by Avotaynu in 2004" which is in itself a English translation of the work by Isidor Hirschberg in Bromberg in 1836 following the appointment of Eduard von Flotwell as enforcer of the naturalization process we find:
The Grand Duchy had County designations.
Samter County had towns of Pinne, Obrzyeko, Wronke, Samter and Neubrück.
These towns were in the Posen Administrative District.
Another example is Wreschen County that had towns of Miloslaw, Zerko and Wreschen. Also in the Posen Administration.
Posen Town was in the Posen District along with Towns of Schwersenz and Stenbewo.
So Where did the initial Project members and names of Projects come from? Mostly I have used Luft's book as it is in English and widely available for $50 USD.
So that is my opening statement of the issue. Feel free to reply.
Dan
