The parents of William Ford (1567-1631) are said to be unknown. However, Gov. Wm. Bradford referred to William Ford's mother as "Widow Ford" and her husband as "Pilgrim Ford". Pilgrim Ford is said to have died shortly before of after his arrival at Plymouth.

Marth's 1st husband's given name and her parent's surnames are not known. But she is not an unknown entity. She had two children by her 1st husband and children by her 2nd husband, pilgrim Peter Brown. Their children are well documented.

I believe that Martha should be identified by her married names... Marth Ford/Brown, not as unknown. It can be said in her description that her maiden name is unknown.

Typo...I left the "A" off of Martha Ford/Brown.

Two different people.

Martha “widow Ford” Browne was not related to William Ford, of Marshfield

I removed the profiles for the unknown parents of William Ford, of Marshfield

Check out Florence Barclay's definitive 1966 article on the Ford family in TAG 2:35-42. She concludes that this William Ford of Marshfield was not a son of Widow Ford who came on the Fortune in 1621.
