I got the book I had mentioned last November. It is very well-researched and put together. On pg. 84 is a family tree that includes the parents of David Williamson who married Susannah Livingston. It lists:

David Williamson
b. 15, Jan 1786 in NC
d. 07 Sept 1849 in Orangeburg County, SC

It lists David's father as William Wilalism d. 1820 in SC and David's mother as Mary Pernice with no additional info showing for her.

I have gone through my sons paternal lines on this branch of his family tree and it all matches up with what is in the book, so I have no reason to conclude that anything is incorrect regarding the info on David or his parents.

All of Chapter 10 in the book is on the WIlliamson branch of the family. It says William WIlliamson operated a toll bridge across the North Fok of the Edisto River, known earlier as Jordan's Bridge. William bought the land on both sides of the river from Garret Jordan. The author stated the birdge is now known as Harsey's Bridge.

In Chapter 10, David's full name is given as Squire David Williamson, born 1/15/1786 m. Susannah Livingston b. 3/14/1787. They married 2/2/1808. The info was found in a transcription of her father John Livingston's Bible.

David was a member SC State Representative and there is family lore that he rode horseback to Washington, whichi is also mentioned in a letter written to Furman Univerity in 1962 by Mrs. Ersie Patrick.

The Biographical Directory of the South Carolina House of Representatives, V. 5, states that David served in the 23rd and 24th Assemblies for the Lexington District. David is mentioned in another publication as a farmer from Orangeburg District as a member on the Committee on Pensions (1818-1820) and the Committee on Public Buildings (1820-1822).

David also served as Justice of the Peace for Orange Parish (1815), Justice of the Quorum (1820 and 1825) and Magistrate (1846 and 1855) of Orangeburg District.

According to the 1840 census, he owned 13 slaves.

He taught one student in the school year of 1849 for 182 days at Fork School.

An obit for David appeared in The Southern Baptist. It said:

Died, in Orangeburg District, on the 7th Sept., Maj. David WIlliamson, in the 63rd year of his age...member of the Baptist Church for 30 years, left nine children and 34 grandchildren.

The author says it's not known known when or how David acquired the title Major and that prior to his obit, he was thought to have only five children and then it goes on to give other info on that.

So the only question I have remaining is about David's mother connected her as Mary Smith rather than the Mary Pernice as listed in the book. If anyone has any additional information on Mary Pernice, please share .

Next I discovered that the William Williamson attached here as David's father is not the same one showing on their Wiki page:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Williamson-2960

William Williamson
Born before 1775

Son of Jesse William Williamson and Mary (Windham) Williamson

Brother of James Williamson, Charles Williamson, Jesse Baxter Williamson Sr., Shadrack Williamson and Rachael (Williamson) Stubbs

Husband of Mary (Pernice) Williamson

DESCENDANTS
Father of William Williamson Jr., Elijah H Williamson, Alexander Drew Flowers Williamson Sr. and Rebecca Pernice (Williamson) Hughes
Died about 14 Sep 1841 at about age 66 in Covington, Mississippi, United States

No one has connected David as a child of William and Mary Pernice on the Wiki site, but I did add a link to the book on Mary's Wiki page.

Since the parents for WIlliam indicate he's not the one connected here on Geni, I again turned to the book in hopes of clarying which William Williamson is David's father.

There are few details on David's parents in the book. It shows his father as William Williamson d. 1820 SC. That's not much to go on, but...

1) Given all the details given for David, I feel certain if his father had been a minister that would have been noted.

2) The William Williamson in the book died in South Carolina, which is where David also died. The WIlliam Williamson attached as his father here on Geni died in Ohio.

The book says that prior to moving to NC, William's father - named Charles - had living in Princess Anne, Virginia. Charles' father was Jame, b. 1710 and also lived in Princess Anne, Virginia. It says "The family is believed to have emigrated to Virginia from Scotland".

None of that matches the connections here on Geni, leaving me to conclude that David is definitely connected not to just the wrong mother but to the wrong parents altogether.

The book goes on to state that David's father William and David's brother Tommy also operated Williamson Mills on Cedar Creek in Lexington County and states "The old well, and the home's old foundation stones, are still there. In 1836, tthe land of the mills was a militia forming ground".

Info on Ancestry is skimpy as well, but I did find a descendant's tree who has the son Thomas 'Tommy' mentioned in the book - son of William, brother of David:

Tree Owner: Rachel Livingston Coleman

Thomas Williamson
BIRTH: 1793 Lexington, South Carolina, United States
DEATH; 1880 SC

Father
William Williamson (1756–1820)

Mother
Mary Pernice

Mary Pernice's Wiki page has several descendants listed with their Gedmatch kit #s. I compared my sons to all of them, since they should all be related, and he matches all the ones listed on both her profile and her husband's:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pernice-1

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Williamson-2960

but Wiki has William Williamson's parents incorrect also, according to the book being used to validate my son's lines, as previously noted.
