In trying to look for clues about Andrew Hadfeg, we find his Citizenship record in Philadelphia in 1799. I have also found a record of his daughter Aspasie Celestine Hadfeg's birth in 1798 and his letter to Sec. of State James Madison requesting a posting as Consul of Santiago de Cuba in 1806. My maternal ancestors from Cuba are his descendants.
On the Citizenship records, he notes Sterzingen in Tyrol under the Emperor of Germany, which seems odd as it is near Brenner in the border with Austria and Italy. Germany was not constituted as such until the following century.
