I am not sure who added the incorrect information that James Jordan Hicks was the father of my great grandfather Ashley Rosal Halford but I do ask that you remove it. Mary Frances Halford did marry J J Hicks but only AFTER Ashley was born in 1870. J J Hicks was married to Mary Frances's sister Nancy Caroline in 1870. Ashley was never told who his father was. DNA testing on the Y chromosome and several autosomal matches have narrowed the father down to two related (to each other) men who lived in the same small community as the Halford family and who had several family connections,
