Aha, you beat me to it!
Here is what I was writing under William Sutton and Susan Cony's profile: Sir William Sutton and Susan Cony are listed in Collin's Peerage of England with seven children: Robert, Richard, Henry, Alice, Susan, Elizabeth and Gervas.
The visitations of the county of Nottingham in the years 1569 and 1614, page 143, expands this list to include an 8th child, Mary. https://archive.org/details/visitationscoun01britgoog/page/n154/mod...
Burke's Peerage simply lists their four sons, Robert, Richard, Henry and Gervas. page 1078
These eight must be the couple's eight surviving children, as the inscription on their tomb reads "Their generous offspring (parents' joy of heart) eight of each sex, of each an equal part ushered to Heaven their father, and the other remain'd behind him to attend their mother" This tells us that William and Susan also had a further eight children (4 sons and 4 daughters) who died before their parents. https://www.flickr.com/photos/52219527@N00/6774153558
This creates a problem because linked to this couple we have two other surviving sons, Ambrose Sutton of Long Island (a supposed immigrant to New York and not their real son Robert) and John Sutton
I disconnected John Sutton of County Kent, who had an Irish landed gentry line attached to him -William Sutton
