How to add confirmed ancestor to a project

Hello, I am trying to add my ancestor to the "Pre - 1820 British Settlers in South Africa" Project, but when I go to the 'Add to Project' link on his profile, the drop-down lists of projects is empty. When I manually type in "Pre - 1820 British Settlers in South Africa" and hit either return or Done, nothing happens and he is not added. Has anyone figured out how to make this function work properly? Thanks.
