How did he die in Papua New Guinea? If this is true, I would really like to here this interesting story.

Have you ever received an answer to this question? I’d love to know the answer!

Since there's no source given for the death place, it could very well be incorrect. Perhaps one of the managers has a source available?

Family Search tree has death as July 7, 1650 Schwalbach, Saarlouis, Saarland, Germany, but no original source for same. I suppose Papua New Guinea is remotely possible but rather unlikely. Folks did travel quite some distance in 1650…. Looks like Papua New Guinea was on a profile from 2011 showing ManagersMichael Romsky, and Pierre Quenee which was merged by Pierre curator in 2016 with a profile Created byMichael Holst Egsgaard in 2008 which listed no death place. It’s quite possible that Michael may not even be aware of the merge and results.

The Geni Team Has also made a few changes, not sure what that means . A few curators have been involved, Jadra, Jim Wylie, most recently in 2019, Jim, in trying to resolve issues I guess, approved the Papua New Guinea as death place…

Yeah, it might've just been a mistake, but it is cool to talk to people who are descendants of the same person.

Yes, it’s cool to talk! 😀
Have you heard from the managers involved with that profile?
Maybe Jacob was adventurous and died on an expedition of discovery in Papua New Guinea!

I have found I have to be very careful when adding information, as sometimes some intuitive feature either on geni or perhaps on my device program gets imaginative and adds something to what I have written without my awareness! Another way for mistakes to happen…

It seems the consensus across family trees on all the major websites is that he died in Schwalbach, Saarlouis, Saarland, Germany. The problem is that I can't find any trees that cite that info.

My suggestion for now would be to update the profile to give Schwalbach as the location, but include a note on the profile saying that a source other than Internet trees is needed.

I did hear from Michael who said “ Greetings, unfortunately I have no further information. I did all this research years ago and no longer have access to the source records. Sorry.”

Addendum: The Michael I heard from was Michael Romsky.

I would agree with Ashley Odell, if the others are ok with it.

With no citation available, I've removed the mention of PNG from the profile.
