Tiana, it’s interesting that on this site, James has the second name of Henry. I have not seen a second name of Henry after James anywhere. I’m intrigued as to where this second name of Henry came from..
There is some erroneous information on ancestry.com that I’d like to have corrected. However, I don’t think that ancestry information can be corrected by anyone except for Graham Adams who loaded it. I can’t seem to be able to contact him, he is in Australia. On the Adam’s tree, James is given the second name of Lewis. I know that to give James the second name of Lewis isn’t correct. This second name of Lewis is now popping up on NZ information sites including settler information and the early Wellington shipping data. I’d like to to see this incorrect name being deleted off the new shipping record versions before it further spreads. It was not on the original shipping record, nor on the marriage certificate. .
Additionally, from my research I am sure that the parents of James Symons are incorrectly stated in the Adam’s ancestry chain. James’ parents were Henry and Elizabeth ( Betty). I went to St Breaca’s’ church at Breage in Cornwall which was supposedly where James parents were buried according to the Adam’s ancestry. Although there are some later Symons graves there, they would be relations. Henry Symons ( James’ father) is buried at St Stephens near Saltash. (Proven, I have the grave information and a photo).
Apparently in QLD, there is a bible that has the very early Cornish Symons/ Morshead information. I’d very much lie to see a copy/ screenshot of the family information in this bible. I often go to Australia and any help from anyone with knowledge on this bible search would be appreciated.
( I am the daughter of Kyle Symons, his father was Frederick Symons. Frederick’s father was William who was James and Jane Symons’ son).
